Saskatchewan revised the In-Demand Occupations List
On May 1, 2019, Saskatchewan once again revised its In-Demand Occupations list. Earlier, the province updated the list on April 17. The revised list contains 19 occupations.

Express Entry Draw #116
On May 1, 2019, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry invitation round. In round #116, IRCC issued 3,350 Invitations to Apply (ITA). The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System score for this round is 450, which is 1 point lower than in the previous round. The tie-breaking rule for this round is November 5, 2019, at 12:27:07 UTC. As of April 26, 2019, there are 103,945 profiles registered in the pool. Canada has already invited 31,250 candidates through the Express Entry in 2019.

Saskatchewan invited 202 new candidates via SINP
On May 1, 2019, Saskatchewan invited 202 candidates in its Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). In the Express Entry category, SINP issued 81 invitations to apply. In the Occupations In-Demand category, SINP invited 121 candidates. The lowest score in both categories was 67. SINP noted that in this round the province invited candidates with the following occupations: Managers in social, community and correctional services, Conference and event planners, Medical sonographers, Psychologists, Instructors of persons with disabilities, Butchers and Bakers. In total, Saskatchewan invited 1502 candidates via SINP in 2019.

Deadline for filing complete PGP applications is June 28
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reminded Parent and Grandparent Program (PGP) sponsors that the deadline for submitting a complete application is June 28, 2019. IRCC further reminded the sponsors that any change to applications submitted will delay the department’s processing of the applications. On April 24, 2019, Canada started inviting potential sponsors to submit a complete application. On April 27, 2019, IRCC finished sending invitations to all potential sponsors. This year, Canada will accept 20,000 application for parent’s sponsorship.
