Canadian Index for Measuring Integration has been released
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and Stanford University’s Immigration Policy Lab have developed the Canadian Index for Measuring Integration (CIMI). This online tool allows measuring the outcomes of newcomers in specific regions. A matching algorithm can make recommendations where a new immigrant might settle based on data collected by Statistics Canada and Canada Revenue Agency that tracked the annual income of newcomers in their first year after immigration. Although this tool is yet to prove itself, the AI learning algorithm may become a valuable tool helping immigrants on where to settle based on their occupational and other personal data in the future.
