PGP: Employment Insurance will not be counted towards gross income
Almost 27,000 sponsors received invitations from the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to submit full parental sponsorship applications by the end of this month. There was a huge backlash when the Parent and Grandparent Program was opened in January to accept online registration forms and was closed within a few minutes. The Canadian government may review the program. Therefore, those who have received an invitation now may not get another chance after the program will be reviewed next year. They must submit their documents, especially financial documents, carefully. They must note that Employment Insurance or maternity leave will not be counted towards gross income.

IRCC will host International Metropolis Conference in Ottawa
The International Metropolis Conference will be held in Ottawa from June 24-28, 2019. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will host this largest annual international gathering of world experts from academia, governments and civil society in the fields of migration, integration and diversity. The conference’s program will reflect both Canadian and international strategies regarding immigration, integration, diversity and inclusion. Over 1,000 delegates from across the world are expected to attend. According to Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen, “The conference comes at a critical time, as the international community faces many great challenges when it comes to migration, but also at a time when regular migration offers many opportunities to countries around the world. Metropolis 2019 is an excellent platform to carry forward an international commitment to inclusive migration solutions, cooperative government actions and lasting partnerships.”
